Each tarot card is associated with a specific meaning as well as the intuitive meaning that each particular psychic might attribute to them. The meaning of tarot cards can vary between person to person, but each card is associated with a specific meaning as well. Tarot readings will differ greatly from psychic to psychic even if the same exact cards were drawn in the same exact layout, however the overall meaning should probably be pretty close in the most general of terms. Each tarot card typically has a positive and negative meaning, often interpreted as such depending on the position the card holds in the reading. In this post I will list the general accepted terms for many of the tarot cards in the deck. Maybe the tarot card meanings are different for you as well!

The Fool – The Fool usually indicates new beginnings but also could indicate you should get your head out of the clouds lest you end up looking the fool!

The Magician – The Magician could very well indicate a sleazy salesperson type is going to enter into your life and try to sell you snake oil. It could also mean that you will soon get a great idea or vision that will lead to great benefits.

The High Priestess – Getting the High Priestess card indicates you will be gaining secret knowledge that will help you in some area of your life (job, love, etc) as well as learning something very strange indeed.

The Empress – This card represents the gift of life, romance, business and/or art. But beware, the Empress can also withhold these gifts in anger.

The Emporer – The Emporer represents a man of authority that is just and fair and someone who loves their Empire that they built, but being the emporer also comes with responsibility that can sometimes be resented.

The Hierophant (or High Priest) – This card represents bringing one down to earth to deal with earthly problems and represents harmony in chaos. The High Priest can also be stubborn and unbending.

The Lovers – This card means you will come across something that you absolutely love, could be a person, job, or any thing that will make you undeliably happy. This something will resonate with you no matter if it means changing your original plans, you know you have to to be happy.

These are just a few of the meanings of some of the many tarot cards in the tarot deck. Tarot cards are a very useful tools used in psychic readings. Of course it is an intricate balance of the meaning of the card, the placement of the card, and the psychic’s own interpretation to make a complete reading accurate. Check out this site for information on rider waite tarot cards.

The tarot card deck has been around for centuries and originally started out not as a divination tool but as a regular ole’ card game. Today, the Tarot is used solely for fortune telling. A psychic tarot reading is given when a psychic such as a clairvoyant uses tarot cards to give their reading. There are two types of people who use the tarot deck for psychic readings: the person who uses the tarot solely for the reading and the person who uses the tarot as a focusing tool. It takes a lot of practice to learn to use tarot cards for any purpose. Each card is supplied with a specific meaning and each position of the layout of the cards carries with it a specific meaning. A person who uses the tarot as the sole purpose of a psychic reading is often “fortune telling” because they are using what history has told them about the meaning and placement of the cards to give the reading. This is a completely acceptable and traditional use of the cards, but it is also what you think of when you think of gypsies and carnivals.

The other use of the cards as a divination tool is a more in depth psychic reading according to most people. Psychic tarot card readings tend to be more tailored to your specific life and do not rely on just the historical meaning of the cards. The cards help the clairvoyant or psychic to focus on the question and person at hand to provide a more accurate psychic reading. While the tarot cards still provide some meaning for the psychic, he/she is also not a slave to their meanings and can better interpret their meanings in regards to the situation at hand. I find that the Tarot is a great focusing tool and without them I have a harder time giving a reading as I am heavily influenced by noise and the person I am reading for.

A free psychic tarot reading may be available from many websites, but just like their free psychic readings, it will be a shorter reading and will be designed to not answer questions so much as to get you to pay for an entire reading. This is standard practice and should not make you feel like that company or reader is “shady”. They are providing a service that is often physically and emotionally draining and they should be compensated.

The Tarot is a deck of seventy-eight cards and four suits. Originally the Tarot was used from the mid 15th century throughout Europe to play card games. Today most of these games are unknown and tarot cards are now used mainly for divining the future. The four suits correspond to the four modern day suits, but they have different symbols and names. The Tarot was not used for divination purposes until the eighteenth century.

The occultists have given the the name the “Major Arcana” to the trump cards and the Fool and the name the “Minor Arcana” to the ten pip and the court cards of each suit. The suits of the Tarot are typically called the Swords, Staves, Cups and Coins, but there are some variations depending on who you talk to or where the deck is made.

The Tarot depicts esoteric designs and pictures on each card. The cards in the Major Arcana are as follows:

The Fool

The Magician

The High Priestess

The Empress

The Emperor

The Hierophant

The Lovers

The Chariot

Strength

The Hermit

Wheel of Fortune

Justice

The Hanged Man

Death

Temperance

The Devil

The Tower

The Star

The Moon

The Sun

Judgment

The World

The cards of the Minor Arcana consist of 56 cards divided into 4 suits just like a traditional playing deck today. According to Tarot readers, each card has a specific meaning but can be interpreted different ways according to its position and relation to other cards. When a psychic reader uses the Tarot, he or she will lay out the cards in a certain way and each position means a different thing.

A tarot card reading can be a fun and informative experience if given by a gifted and practiced psychic. Many psychics consider the Tarot a focusing tool rather than each card in its place meaning a specific thing. Online Tarot readers employ the same basic strategies when giving tarot card readings.

It is best for someone who is interested in receiving a reading from a psychic to take each thing with a grain of salt, but much can be learned about yourself during a tarot card reading. Do not dismiss the reading because it might seem cheesy or unrealistic to you because you could be missing some vital information about yourself. A psychic reading can be very useful, even to the most skeptical of people. The only way to know for sure is to get a psychic reading and find out for yourself!
