I am sure we are all pretty familiar with the standard psychic test that is given in random laboratories and studies worldwide. The test I am referring to is the “card” test where a deck of cards with symbols (typically a star, wavy lines, square, triangle, circle) is used to test the psychic abilities of subjects. The basic theory is that if a person is truly psychic they will be able to “guess” what card a person is holding up without being able to see the card over 50% of the time.  While there has never been a documented case that proves someone psychic using this test, it never fails to be the one everyone wants to administer.  It does make sense because it is a simple test that is easily controlled, so I decided to take it.

I will start off by saying that this psychic ability test that was administered to me was in no way scientifically endorsed or administered by a professional.  I sat with my back to my sisters, who had the cards, and she would raise a card and ask me to guess which one it was.  We repeated the steps 100 times and out of 100 I got 43 correct, less than half correct.  Now this did not bum me out because I do not claim to have the ability to just see what the next card is going to be.  There are so many different psychic abilities and I knew that was not mine, so we tried another psychic test and this one was much more interesting.

We took five people who were volunteers and that I have never met before and placed them in a room separate from mine and I sat with my back to the wall and one by one my sister would send one of the five people into my room without any verbal communication.  They were to come to the doorway of my room without saying anything or clearing their throat or doing anything that would give away their height, gender, etc.  They were instructed to stand there until I made a declaration then move away without saying anything.  I did not know if I guessed correctly until the experiment was finished.  We repeated the process 1oo times and I guessed the person correctly 89 times.

I believe this is because my psychic abilities lie with me being empathetic and picking up on individual energies.  I should note that the 11 times I guessed wrong were in the first 25 guesses and I guessed correctly 75 times in a row.  I believe this is because I began to get acquainted with each individual energy and could recognize them time and again.  This was by far a controlled experiment, but we did control it as much as possible.

My point is this: that psychic tests should be varied and cater to different abilities then maybe we could find some “proof” for psychic abilities.

Psychic power is accessible to anyone who can recognize that there is a higher level of communication different from what we are used to using within our own physical realm.  There is unlimited energy that can be accessed by anyone open to it and who can tune into the vibrations of this higher level by focusing their own energies and being able to sink to it.  Psychic power is not just for people who are so called psychic or gifted in a particular psychic area, but for everyone with just a little effort.  Even psychics wouldn’t be who they are today if they were unable to recognize the subtle energy and then focused their attention to these vibrations in order to fine tune their abilities.

Focusing is the key ingredient to developing psychic powers.  Try to focus on yourself in relation to the world around you.  Try to pick up on what others around you are feeling by concentrating on the subtle vibrations each person and object radiates.  These subtle energies is that shared energy I am talking about.  Make yourself familiar with the feeling and vibrations and you will soon be able to pick up on it quickly without much effort.  Understanding that everything is connected will help you to develop your psychic power quickly and accurately.  Psychic powers are not developed overnight, especially for those who this does not come natural to.  Some people are just so extra sensitive to these energies that they are the ones who have been psychic their whole lives, but it is not out of reach for you!

The hardest part in developing your psychic powers is first understanding that everything is connected to everything else then having the ambition to fine tune your psychic abilities.  It can be very frustrating at first which makes it very easy to give up.  You must have the willingness to push through the barriers and know that a psychics power is always made greater over time because your ability to fine tune ad lock into that universal energy grows.

In order to cultivate your psychic powers you must be willing to change your current thinking and then work really hard at creating and maintaining your psychic power.  The power level of a psychics abilities are very much related to how finely they are tuned to the energy around them and that takes practice.  Practicing is what makes everything come together in order to advance.  A psychic circle is a good way to do this.  A circle will meet at regular intervals and provide a positive environment with like minded individuals and encourage growth.

Psychic powers can be a gift and a curse at the same time.  Many people want to know how to develop psychic powers, while others wish they could get rid of their abilities.  Both sides of the coin may be able to practice the same techniques in order to control their psychic abilities.  Who knows, for those of you who wish you didn’t have these powers might come to like having them once you know how to control them.  A psychics power can be used for good, but can also become a burden and possibly be used for ill, this is what we wish to prevent.

Developing psychic powers is much more difficult than controlling them.  Many psychics have strong psychic abilities and have had for many years.  They have been aware of these abilities and have learned to live with them and many have learned to help and profit off of them.  There is hope for those of you wishing more control over unwieldy powers or for those of you who wish to focus them more and be more productive with them.

• Meditate – Meditate once a day.  Use visualization and breathing techniques to calm your body and mind. Try to find your guide during and inner journey because they will help you tremendously along the way to controlling your psychic powers.
• Premonition – To help with your premonition powers, learn Tarot or scrying to help you focus your energy and mind.  Using psychic tools will increase your ability to have premonitions and read situations and people much clearer.  This is developing your clairvoyance.
• Healing – To help with healing energies you should consider taking some Reiki classes and/or learn crystal healing.  These techniques will help you understand your healing energies and also help you focus your psychic powers for positive things.  You can help a lot of people with healing energies and not just by “telling the future”.  Remember, you are not a fortune teller!

While these seem to be simple techniques for such great psychic powers, remember that is much more simple to control them then you think.  It is all about focused attention and direction.  These techniques will also help someone developing psychic powers, but it will take a lot more effort on their part, but for those of you struggling to control your psychic abilities these techniques will help and help fast.  You just have to actually practice them regularly, not just once and complain that it didn’t work!

Now I would think that being a psychic detective would be one of the most thrilling jobs ever!  Psychic detectives, by definition, use their psychic abilities to solve crimes and assist in paranormal research.  Paranormal research is usually the activity of helping people with haunted houses, poltergeists and other things that go bump in the night and disturb one’s day to day living.  A person conducting this type of work is a paranormal investigator or a psychic detective.

Although psychic detectives have claimed to have assisted many times in murder and kidnapping cases, there has never been a police department that has officially recognized that the help of a psychic has led to the solving of a case.  I have personally known many psychics and many of them have claimed to help the police and unofficially the police have admitted to using the psychics and the psychics giving them information that led to the solving of the case.  They will never publicly admit this, but it does happen.

Many people are familiar with the Paranormal Research Society or the PRS from the television show Paranormal State.  While this is a very interesting show and they employ the use of psychics and mediums in the show, I have yet to see any real proof that what they do is real.  The show is very dramatic, but nothing is ever really shown, just inferred and this makes me angry because just like many of you out there, I want to see proof.  I want to be scared and think that these houses are haunted, but it is television and you can never believe anything you see on it!

All in all being a psychic detective would be fascinating to say the least.  You would be able to explore the entire realm of paranormal investigating and use all sorts of fancy and technical equipment.  Psychic detectives do not need any special training, but experience is a must.  One must be able to interpret their messages clearly and have experience doing this as it takes time to understand everything when it comes to your own psychic ability.  Those in the paranormal investigations area would be best served by having a lot of experience under someone else in the field.  In both areas learning how to deal with sensitive subject areas and people who do not understand what you do would take a lot of practice.  Your best bet would be to prepare yourself well before venturing into becoming a psychic detective.
