A celebrity psychic often is a person who is very well known among psychic circles as well as the general populous.  They gain their notoriety by either being really good at what they do or by being really smart and hiring great PR people to help move their careers along.  I do have a problem with celebrity psychics because most of them are so easy to see right through their deceitful ways yet so many people fall for it.  They give genuine psychics a bad name, in my humble opinion.  Yet there are those out there who are genuine themselves and are just really good at what they do and their name gets around and before they know it they are writing books and appearing on talk shows.

A psychic reading from a celebrity psychic is going to cost you a lot of money.  For instance, a psychic phone reading with Sylvia Browne will cost you $850.  That is a lot of money for most people, but hey she is famous so she can charge the big bucks and more power to her, I am not mad at her for that!  Most people adore Sylvia Browne and that is fine, she seems genuine enough and one day not so long ago nobody knew her at all so she obviously did something right.  I just caution people against the celebrity psychics for the reason that they can charge a lot of money and could be phony just like a lot of other people out there.

I imagine the life of a celebrity psychic is hectic with all the appearances and books to write and readings to give, but much like that of a regular celebrity, they can’t complain.  Another look at a celebrity psychic is the psychic that all the celebrities use, but they are not necessarily famous on their own.  Many celebrities employ psychics because they are just like you and me, they want to know how things play out and if they are on the right path, maybe more so than you or me because their entire lives depend on their public image.  I would imagine they want forewarning of something bad happening!

Celebrity psychic predictions are always fun.  This is where a psychic, not necessarily one that is famous, will make predictions about celebrities and then everyone waits on pins and needles to see if they play out over the year.  This goes on every year and all you need to do is google it to find the current years predictions.

A psychic circle is more like a psychic development circle where folks of like mind and ilk get together in support and education.  A psychic circle will usually comprise of people that are within the same local region who get together something like once a month to discuss new ideas and to learn from each other.  Much like any other social club, psychic circles have purpose as well as social aspects to them.  You can even start your own by advertising locally.  The only thing you need is people and a place to meet.  Many circles have a centralized location, oftentimes a member’s house, where they meet for a few hours.

During the psychic circle that I belong to we usually begin each meeting with a hello and then begin discussing the past month in regards to clients or particular readings that stick out in our mind.  We discuss new techniques or meditation rituals that we have discovered and wish to share with our fellow psychics.  We also learn from each other because each of us is different.  For instance, I am not a medium but we have mediums in our circle and we learn how they conduct readings.  It is merely an interest that we have, not because we are trying to learn to conduct psychic readings in a different way.  It is also not required that you be psychic to attend although most of us are because that is how we found each other!

A psychic circle should feel like a place of safety and education.  It is important that only those of like mind attend, but if you do invite you average everyday skeptic, this can be turned into a good experience to learn from.   Many psychics find that debating with skeptics often reaffirm their beliefs in what they do.

Some of you may have found this post because of the psychic circle board.  There is such a thing as the psychic circle board and it is much like an Ouija board, but in the form of a circle.  These items are for sale from many retailers and often called The Psychic Circle.  Using a psychic circle can be a dangerous and I would caution against anyone using the board for ill purposes.  Of course it is intended for entertainment purposes only, but there have been instances where disturbing things have come about from using a psychic circle or Ouija board.

Many psychics talk about their “psychic light”.  What are they referring to?  What is a psychic light?  The light they refer to may mean different things to each psychic, but generally this refers to the light they see when a revelation is about to be made clear to them.  A lot of psychics, especially mediums, will meditate before or during readings.  During the meditation they will be searching for their light, the light that lets them know they are now connected with the spiritual realm and/or their spirit guide.

By channeling, many psychics see their psychic light often, but many other psychics like myself, the clairvoyant empath type, never see a light.  I am not one for meditating much either, I have tried but I just do not have the patience for it.  I cannot speak from experience, but from what I hear, psychic lights are calming and comforting.  Another form of a psychic light would be seeing aura’s.

Auras are the colorful energy field that surround all living beings.  Each individual has their own unique color pattern and it can change and shift depending on your health and mood.  I can see auras, but I never refer to them as lights.  The colors of an aura have meaning and there have been published “standardized” meanings for these colors, but it is important to note that color is a very personalized thing.  Each psychic should interpret auras according to what the color means to them, not to some general idea of that color.

Mediums often see psychic lights.  A psychic light to them could very well mean they are actually seeing the spirit itself that is represented as a light.  This is often the case and will often refer to the spirit as presenting itself in a white or golden light.  I am not a medium, but I feel that when they say this they are trying to reassure the person being read that their loved one is in a good place.

Regardless of what the meaning is to each individual psychic, a psychic light is a manifestation of their psychic abilities.  On the other hand, if a psychic does not see a light I don’t believe this in any way affects their psychic abilities and this should not be a test to see if you psychic is real or if you really are a psychic.  Finding your psychic light could be an experiment and I would encourage you to try, meditation being the most likely of ways, but if you cannot do not be discouraged.

Psychic mediums use something called mediumship which is a term used to describe communication with spirits in the spiritual realm.  It is often associated with religious beliefs, but there is of course no scientific proof or consensus that spirits exist, but it is more of a belief that someone can actually communicate with spirits.  The role of a medium psychic is to relay messages to non-mediums from the spiritual realm.  Mediums are also said to communicate with angels, demons and other non-human spiritual entities.  In the “New Age” community they practice mediumship, called channeling, by speaking with a spirit guide or teaching spirit.  Other mediums are said to allow the spirit to come through them and speak through their bodies as well as communicate through writing the messages.

Mediums who use spirit guides claim these guides are teachers and guide them in developing their psychic abilities.  They claim these guides are the bridge between the medium and the spirits trying to communicate.  Of course there are mediums that claim they can communicate with spirits without a spirit guide.  Other psychics also claim to use guides to help them with messages during “regular” psychic readings, not necessarily for communication with the dead.

There are different types of mediumship.  Mental mediumship is where the medium communicates with the spirits via telepathy.  The medium mentally sees, hears and feels the messages.  This is referred to as clairvoyance (seeing), clairaudience (hearing) and clairsentience (feeling).  Trance mediumship is defined when a medium enters a trance and allows their ego to step aside and the spirit to step in and speak through their body or use their body for another form of communication such as writing out messages.  Physical mediumship is when the spirit physically manifests its presence by a rapping noise or materialized spirit bodies.  Of course a lot of these manifestations have been debunked and there are tools of the trade that can be used to fool the client.  Be very cautious when employing a medium or any psychic for that matter.  There are some people who are out there to just take your money and scam you, but there are people out there who truly want to help others and those are the types you need to look for.

The best psychic medium is often claimed to be John Edwards, but again this is debatable.  The best psychic medium readings are often performed in private and not in a public forum.  Psychics and mediums are humans too so they are not above mistakes.  When hiring one, be sure to do your research and get referrals, especially when dealing with such a sensitive subject as communicating with dead loved ones.
